Beatknit Patterns: Brainwash Bag
Finished Size: 10"x 10"x 3"
Yarn: Peace Fleece Worsted (70% wool 30% mohair; 200yd/4oz)
MC: Shaba Green, 2 skeins
CC: Samantha Katya Pink, 1 skein
Yarn available at Knit Pixie
Needles: Size 15 needles
Notions:Yarn Needle
Special Skills: Intarsia
Gauge: Before Felting 9 sts/14 rows = 4" After Felting 12 sts/18 rows = 4"
Notes: Yarn is doubled throughout
Side Panel: (Make 2 panels)
Cast on 29 stitches.
Starting with a RS row on row 1, work chart in stockinette stitch (knit all RS rows, purl all WS rows)
Bind off.
Strap:
With MC, cast on 8 stitches. Work in garter stitch (knit every row) until strap is 72" long.
Bind off.
Finishing:
Sew ends of straps together, being careful not to twist the strap.
With the seam at the bottom, seam side panels to the strap (see diagram)
Weave in ends.
Felting
:
I felted the bag in the washing machine with jeans. Check the bag often and take out when it is felted to your liking.
Roll up the bag between two towels and gently press out the excess water.
Remove from the towels and stretch into shape if necessary. Stuff with towels and allow to dry overnight.
